Have a week off old timers

This weekends Matches are all twenty/20. A game for the young, a game for the fast, a game for the fit. So when our President asked if he had been selected for any of the teams this weekend, this is what was said :

Yes he's lookin' kind of jaded

And his sight is not the best
And the hair around his muzzle's turnin' grey
He has played a hundred matches
And I think it's only fair
We leave him in the longyard here today

 He was broken in the sixties

Maybe sixty two or three
Never faltered always seemed to be on hand
Never have I seen him beaten
By a batsmen on the field
And at a short cover he was pick of all the land.

 So leave him out there in the longyard

Do not pick him
Leave him out there with his mates and his chair
Leave him there till after this weekend
And then we will pick him.
So he will be left in the longyard here today.
