The most important job in Australia.

This will be a summer that people will speak about with enjoyment in many years to come.
A blonde woman ran into a police station wailing. She claimed that her house had been broken into.
"He was tall and dressed in white. He was wearing all sorts of protective pads, gloves and helmet."
"Hmmm...appears to be a cricketer," concluded the policeman.
"Ah officer!" she confirmed, "then he must have been an English cricketer."
"What makes you think that he was English? From the accent?" asked the officer.
"No sir," she replied, "he was in and out so quickly."

“We jumped into 4th spot by losing the match”

Son shows dad how it is done.In the same match Robby Gregg's son Brody showed his dad how it is done by taking three wickets in 2nds, it was an outstanding effort from a young player on his way up.
Both Robby and Brody will be looking for the recommencement of the 4th Grade competition on Saturday week, 4th February.

A Friday special.

They were all asked, "When you are in your casket and friends and family are mourning upon you, what would you like to hear them say about you?
Richie was the first to say, "I would like to hear them say that I was the great doctor of my time, and a great family man."
Scotty was keen to say, "I would like to hear that I was a wonderful husband and school teacher who made a huge difference in our children of tomorrow."
Sugar was the last to reply with a cheeky grin, "I would like to hear them say...... LOOK!!! HE'S MOVING!!!!!"
GOOOOOOOOOOOOO all the best for tomorrow gentlemen CITY

Good news stories.
City United’s Jack McVey will be a bowling spearhead when the NNSW Emus play for the Boomerang Trophy today.
Not to be out done, Dan Mitchell was caught on film in action bowling for City in our 1stGrade side last Saturday. Dan describes himself as feeling like “Robocop” during his bowling stint. Dan also talked about his tireless work he performs for Good Sports as the local project officer. City United has a level 3 in the Good Sports program where the club promotes healthy choices.
Under the program, clubs will focus more on young people, families and sport participation. The three-level accreditation criteria ensure clubs provide alcohol management standards and healthier choices for their members. City has moved through the levels over a period of 4 years, maintaining all standards from the previous levels as we progress.
GOOOOOOOOOOOO where is all about Good Sport CITYTHE Aussies have done it with the Ashes, and at Rangoria today the Northern NSW Emus begin their quest to regain the Boomerang Trophy.

At 1st Grade on the weekend.
It was wonderful to see three of City's all time war horses taking the field in 1st Grade for City on Saturday. Peter Mead (Captain courageous) put out a SOS for his good mates and City's long time players and supporters in both Dan Mitchell and Anthony Dutton.
Mateship on the field and the lifetime friendships you make along the way is the reason we play.
From the game Simon Toyer once again had a great all round match, scoring a nice 39 runs and also chipping in with the bowling taking 3 for 37.
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Simon is a big part of City's future CITY

The moments I cherish
Saturday will see us commence the second part of the season, seven matches remain before the semi-finals. Five One-Dayers and two 2 Day matches. There is so much cricket yet to be played and with so many competition points still up for grabs, anything is possible.
With the lost of seven 1st Graders from last season, this year was always one of rebuilding throughout the grades. Added to this the large injury toll the club has had and the large number of players being unavailable because of other committments. I am so proud of the captains and players from City United, I beleive that we have turned the corner with players now finding the feet in their higher grade and with them now feeling that they deserve their position within the team.
Starting this weekend lets continue to have fun and enjoy this wonderful game and play some good cricket. Bective East watch out City is on the way.
My most enjoyable time of the afternoon, sitting back, relaxing and chatting with my team mates at City while I’m waiting for my turn to bat. Love it.

It does not get any better than this!!!!
Michael Clarke’s Ashes heroes have completed a 5-0 series win.
Nathan Lyon led them in the team song, Under the Southern Cross I Stand , in the middle of the SCG soon after play, rather than simply in private in the dressing room as the players would usually sing it.
''Whenever he wants to sing it, we do as we're told,'' skipper Michael Clarke said. ''He wanted to do it in the middle of the wicket so we happily obliged.''
A lethal cocktail of fast bowling, positivity with the bat, playing with freedom and, most of all, a renewed sense of fun - concocted under the leadership of coach Darren Lehmann and Clarke - was behind the huge victory.
The difference between the two teams was enormous. The margins in the five matches were 381 runs, 218 runs, 150 runs, eight wickets and, finally, on Sunday, 281 runs. Alastair Cook and his men simply had no answer.
''I think we've played the brand of cricket that Australians expect and that we expect as a group. I think that's been pretty evident watching from the sideline,'' said Haddin, who after a brilliant individual campaign was pipped for the man of the series award by Mitchell Johnson.
While back at CITY our short Christmas break has come to a end. With training and selections on Wednesday for our first match back being a One -Dayer against Bective East this Saturday the 11th January. Fourth Grade are still on their summer holidays and will not return till February 1. GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO just for the love of it CITY
