Scorers they are part of the team.
Our 4th Grade scorer is currently at Dubbo doing some practical teaching. But she will be back in time for the season opener. This reminds of a story about two brothers from Dubbo.
Bluey goes to an fishing show and wins a tinnie.
He brought it home and his wife looks at him and says,
"What are you gonna do with that. There’s no water deep enough to float a boat within 160 Klms of here."
He says, "I won it and I'm gonna keep it."
His brother came over to visit several days later. He sees the wife and asks where his brother is.
He yells out to him, "What are you doing?"
His brother yells, "It's people like you that give people from Dubbo a bad name, making everybody think we're stupid. If

Dan shows us how it is done
At Training on Sunday our 1st Grade Captain Dan Whale took us through some training drills one of which was to field the ball from the ground cleanly and throw the ball at a lone stump, about twenty metres away. Needless to say the stump was still standing tall after 15 minutes of cricket balls going everywhere and three of us giving up with dislocated shoulders. Dan feeling a bit frustrated by our poor attempts, said “let me have a go”
With one throw he made that bloody stump pay, with a direct hit the stump was ripped out of the ground, did two somersaults and landed there batted and bruised for me to take this photo.
GOOOOOOOO don’t run on my arm City

Playing Fees this season
City held another very well attended meeting last night (Friday), at that meeting a number of issues were discussed, one of them being the playing fees for this coming season. From this season there is an insurance levee placed on all players from New South Wales Cricket. Our club's contribution to NSW Cricket is $480 plus the general increase in prices there in a large increase of cost for running the club.
Kathy Lawrence as our treasurer has done a terrific job in requiring only a slight increase in fees this season.
This season fees Senior $260, Student$190,
4th Grade Senior $190, 4th Grade Student $165.
Our registration morning is Sunday the 26th August, 9.30 am at Riverside 2 practice cricket nets before the start of training. No player will be able to take the field for City until they have filled out a Registration form and paid the minimum amount of $65.
All new players to the club will receive a City United club shirt once they have paid their fees.
BUT THERE IS MORE!!!
All playing members, once you have paid your fees you will receive a City United training singlet.
BUT THERE IS EVEN STILL MORE!!!!!!!!
All playing members, if you have paid your fees in full before our Christmas Party you will be in the draw for THREE that’s THREE chances of having half your fees refunded back to you.
Don't forget our first training session is Sunday the 19th August from 10am at the Riverside 2 cricket nets. With our Registration morning the following Sunday 26th commencing at 9.30am at Riverside 2 with training to follow.
So start saving and bring your playing fees down with you on the 26th.

You are never to old to play fourth grade.
A group of older City 4th Graders were talking back at the City Bowling Club after a training session.
”My arms are so weak I could hardly throw the ball,” said Paul.“Yes, I know. My cataracts are so bad I can’t even see the ball,” replied Terry.
“I couldn't hold the bat because of the arthritis in my fingers,” said Ron, to which several nodded in agreement.“I guess that’s the price we pay for getting old,”Then there was a short moment of silence.
“Well, it’s not that bad,” said Garry Whale cheerfully. “Thank God we have our Voltaren 25’s."
